About me and how the phlatt came about....

 

I am a photographer (Moore Photography) and absolutely fell in love with the look of the wood grain showing through a photo.  I created the Photo Phlatt because I wanted to create something unique, and not just another photo transferred on to a solid piece of wood.  They became so popular with my clients that I created this website in 2014 to make them available to everyone, not just in my small area in Texas.  Since then, I've had the pleasure of creating over 3500 phlatts for folks nationwide! 

 

I solely produce each phlatt myself...I personally select each piece of wood specifically for your photo, build your phlatt, do the transfer and finish it out with a clear matte finish to protect the image. I then install a sawtooth hanger on the back so it’s ready to hang when you get it!

Each phlatt I make is important to me...because it's important to you!  I spend a lot of time with each one from start to finish and pay close attention to every little detail to insure you’ll Love your Photo on a Phlatt!!

About the process and the product...

 

The process is a photo to wood transfer so each piece is unique.  The natural grain of the wood combines with your image to create a truly unique work of art.  

 

All Photo Phlatts© are made with new, high grade wood...not used or weathered.  I have my wood milled especially for the phlatts and have it shipped in directly from the mill.  It has a beautiful, soft wood grain (not too bold) that works amazing with the transfer.  With the transfer process, lighter areas of your image will allow more of the natural wood grain to show through.  On the flip side, if an image is very dark, you won't see as much of the wood grain (which kind of defeats the purpose) so keep this in mind when choosing your image.

 

 Whether taken with your camera or your phone, a family photo, an awesome nature shot, or your favorite photo taken by your professional photographer...a Photo Phlatt© is a unique way to display it and cherish it for years to come!  The white-washed phlatt is made the same way, just lightly coated with a cream coat before the image is transferred... which makes the image a bit bolder and shows a little more detail.  Since it's a light coat, you'll still see some of the wood grain showing through.

Please note that if you wish to use a photographer's image on your Photo Phlatt©, you must provide a print release from that photographer...family photos, engagement, wedding, etc.  Why?  Because there are copyright laws and...getting their permission is the right thing to do. : )

Shipping

All phlatts are wrapped in bubble wrap before they're boxed for shipment for protection during transit.  They are shipped via the US Postal Service, which means you can have it shipped to your physical address, or to your PO Box.

Photo Phlatts© as alternative Guestbooks...

A hi resolution image is always best but others, like images taken from your phone, could work as well.  It doesn't matter if the image is in color or black & white...they both work great!

Since I custom make each order, I will always send you a virtual proof for your approval before I start the process.  Not sure if your image will work?  You are welcome to email your image to me BEFORE you actually place an order and I'll be happy to send you a proof first.
